RICO charges have been filed against over 60 far-left terrorists who have repeatedly assaulted members of the Atlanta Police Department and caused broader destruction and violence over the construction of a new police training facility that has been dubbed “Cop City.”

As Fox News reports, the indictment in Fulton County, Georgia targets members of the group Atlanta Forest, most of whose members are from out-of-state and describe themselves as a “coalition and enterprise of militant anarchists, eco-activists and community organizers.” The indictments accuse them of planning, promoting, and engaging in “direct action” against the construction site of the Atlanta Police Public Safety Training Center in order to “promote anarchist ideas.”

The violence caused by “this anarchist, anti-police and environmental activism organization,” the indictment says, includes vandalism, arson, destruction of government property, and attacks against utility workers, law enforcement officers, and civilians, all while actively “promoting virulent anarchist ideals.”

The 109-page indictment details the various crimes committed by the anarchist group since May 25th, 2020, up to August 25th of this year. As an organized group consisting of mostly out-of-state members, Atlanta Forest is accused of violating the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. The group was created in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd, a black man who died of a fentanyl overdose while in police custody in Minneapolis, which sparked many violent race riots all across the country throughout the summer of 2020.

As one of the core ideas of the Black Lives Matter and Antifa movements is support for “defunding the police,” the new police training facility in Atlanta has been a prime target for far-left terrorism in recent years. In January, riots at the site eventually culminated in one rioter shooting at police, only for him to be gunned down in response, thus sparking even more riots. The location has seen frequent protests and riots in recent months, and many arrests.
