According to The New York Post, the victim was 37-year-old Jorge Gonzalez, a family man who tragically died of natural causes on the R train on April 8. Prosecutors say Felix Jeronimo-Rojas, initially rifled through Gonzalez’s pockets to rob him and then returned to commit a horrifying act of necrophilia — repeatedly zipping up his pants and attempting to conceal the assault as the train made stops. The attack lasted over 30 minutes.
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesperson confirmed that Rojas had been encountered by Border Patrol agents four times between 1998 and 1999, each time allowed to voluntarily return to Mexico. Despite these encounters, Rojas reentered the U.S. undetected and remained under the radar until NYPD officers arrested him on April 27 in Brooklyn.
PitunisWorld also highlighted the disturbing case on social media, posting details of Rojas’s arrest and the charges of first-degree rape and grand larceny he now faces. Authorities revealed that Rojas turned himself in while presenting a foreign passport, though his immigration status was not made public until this week.
Prosecutors say Rojas is being held without bail, and the case continues to raise serious questions about immigration enforcement failures and public safety in major U.S. cities.
