(TJV NEWS) The Israel Defense Forces announced—reiterating the statement across multiple official channels—that it had “eliminated” Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa, a founding Hamas military commander and one of the chief architects of the October 7 massacre.

According to the IDF, Al-Issa was killed in a precision airstrike on Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood. The military identified him as a central figure in Hamas’ combat infrastructure, calling him “a key source of knowledge” who spearheaded force build-up, training, and operational planning for the terror group’s military wing.

“Al-Issa was responsible for planning the October 7 massacre,” the IDF emphasized in repeated public updates. “As Head of Combat Support, he oversaw the development of Hamas’ aerial and naval capabilities and directed attacks on Israeli civilians.”

The IDF said Al-Issa was among the last surviving founding members of Hamas’ military apparatus and played a pivotal role in rebuilding its capabilities after sustained Israeli operations. He also co-founded the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades’ military academy, where he trained thousands of operatives, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Originally from Syria, Al-Issa arrived in Gaza in 2005. He was reportedly killed alongside his wife and grandson.

In a follow-up statement, the IDF and Shin Bet reiterated: “We will continue to locate and eliminate all those responsible for the October 7 massacre.”
